The famous Burgundy Aligoté is a wine from the grape variety of the same name, grown exclusively in Burgundy.
A resistant and high-yielding grape, it adapts more easily to less favourable soil or exposure situations.
Long considered a more austere wine (to be mixed with sweet liquor, especially blackcurrant cream to re-establish the famous Kir), it has acquired its nobility over time. The best Burgundy Aligoté will be able to be found in Côte Chalonnaise, where the grape variety seems to have found its favorite terroir. There is even now a village appellation, Bouzeron, located near Rully, made exclusively from the Aligoté grape variety.
Today, Burgundy Aligoté can be enjoyed alone as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to seafood, for example.
