The famous Bourgogne Aligoté is a wine made from the grape variety of the same name, grown exclusively in Burgundy.
A resistant grape variety with a high yield, it adapts more easily to less favorable soil or exposure situations.
Long considered a more austere wine (to be mixed with sweet liqueur, including crème de cassis to reaiser the famous Kir), it has acquired its letters of nobility over time. The best Burgundy Aligoté will be able to be found in Côte Chalonnaise, where the grape seems to have found its favorite terroir. There is now even a village appellation, Bouzeron, located near Rully, made exclusively from the Aligoté grape variety.
Today Burgundy Aligoté can be enjoyed alone as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to seafood for example.
